What is ChatGPT and How to Use It?

From the past few days, you might have heard a hype of “ChatGPT”.

Right?

Everyone is talking about ChatGPT. So, If you are curious to know what is it and how you can use it, this article is for you. As there are lots of discussions coming regarding it, some people are confused.

So, first, let’s understand what is ChatGPT in simple terms.

What is ChatGPT?

Every time I talked about the benefits of Artificial Intelligence. So, it is nothing but a revolution in the field of AI. The full form of ChatGPT is Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer and it is launched by OpenAI in November 2022.

In simple terms, ChatGPT is basically an advanced bot that can answer all your questions. It has lots of data and based on the data, it will provide answers.

Now, let’s understand how it actually works.

How ChatGPT Works?

It is a type of Natural Language Processing model known as a generative pre-trained transformer. For those who don’t know Natural Language Processing, I would like to brief you about NLP(Natural Language Processing).

Natural Language is nothing but the language which you and I use to communicate. In other words, Natural Language is a Human Language.

There are approximately 6500 languages are present all over the world. And we as human beings use these languages to communicate.

But computers and machines can’t understand these Natural Languages. Computers can only understand in 0 and 1 form.

And that’s why Natural Language Processing came into the picture. The aim of Natural Language Processing is that computers and machines can also communicate like humans.

For more details regarding Natural Language Processing, read this article- What is Natural Language Processing? A Complete and Easy Guide

Proximal Optimization Policy was used to train a ChatGPT. Proximal Optimization Policy was also developed by OpenAI and it is a family of Reinforcement Learning algorithms.

But the core of ChatGPT is Natural Language Processing. We have already seen various applications of Natural Language Processing such as Sentiment Analysis, ChatBots, Speech Recognition(Google’s assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple’s Siri, and Cortana), Machine Translation(Spell Checking, Keyword searching, Information retrieval, and Advertisement Matching).

Now, let’s understand how NLP works-

NLP is divided into two main Components. And that is-

  1. Natural Language Understanding
  2. Natural Language Generation.

You can understand the full processing of NLP with the help of this diagram-
